Get Out There! That's Royal Caribbean's new theme, and they back it up with a fleet of new ships that is nothing short of amazing. This mass-market cruise line has grown to become the second largest in the world, and Royal Caribbean just seems to be getting bigger and better! Over a decade ago, Royal Caribbean launched the first of the modern mega-cruise liners and continues to be an all-around favorite of passengers who enjoy traditional cruising ambiance with a touch of daring and whimsy tossed in. Plunging into the twenty-first century, Royal Caribbean has introduced such new and unheard of features as the And, when it comes to activities, no other cruise line can match Royal Caribbean, especially the Voyager-class ships. Ships feature massive fitness centers with every piece of equipment you can imagine and the first rock climbing walls, ice skating rinks, roller-blade track, 9-hole miniature golf course and even the first surfing simulator (FlowRider) on the Freedom Class ship and much more. Located in the center of the ship spanning the length of two football fields four deck high. Which some interior staterooms overlook onto the promenade. If your strolling down Royal Promenade, you will pass an arcade of shops, bars, lounges, eateries and clubs. A band plays, while, periodically during the day, street performers entertain. Clowns, jugglers, stilt walkers and other characters add to the excitement, while occasional cheers and groans emanate from the nearby sports bar and casino. Several evenings during the cruise, the tree lined "street" of Royal Promenade comes alive with parades, laser shows, and other special events.
Special Features
Royal Caribbean ships are topped by the company's distinctive signature Viking Crown Lounge. These lofty perches allow passengers to contemplate the passing seascape by day and dance away the night in a disco high above the water. Expansive atriums and the generous use of brass and floor to ceiling glass windows give each ship a sense of spaciousness and style.
The dining on Royal Caribbean is the best of all the mega cruise lines. Most Royal Caribbean ships now offer alternate dining choices such as Chops Grill and Portofino Italian Restaurant. The food and service in these venues will rival any 5-star restaurant on land

Royal Caribbean cruises have a broad appeal with something for everyone. For the most active passengers who love the sports deck . Families are partial to the newer vessels that have larger staterooms and seemingly endless choices of activities and alternative dining options. A variety of lounges and high-energy stage shows draw the young and young at heart out to mingle and dance the night away. The over-55 age group is attracted to longer cruises and more exotic itineraries.
Junior Cruisers
Parents and their children will love Royal Caribbean's Adventure Ocean program, offering a variety of supervised amusements for cruisers ages 3 to 17. Activities for children are based upon age group and include Adventure Science, Pirate Night, Adventure Art by Crayola, Wacky Olympics, talent shows, Volcanoes and Fossil Fever, and the Adventure Challenge Series. Each Adventure Ocean staff member has a four-year degree in Education from an accredited college and is certified in CPR.
Kids ages 12 to 17 have a less structured program and can come and go as they please. Teens can hang out at the Living Room, or choose from a selection of activities including pool parties, karaoke, scavenger hunts, talent shows, and sports tournaments. The teen nightclub, Fuel, is open to teens ages 15 to 17 until 2 AM.
Evening babysitting services are available. On the newest ships, teen centers with a disco satisfy even the pickiest teenagers. A flat rate soda card program is a bonus for family budgets. Children can have all the fountain soft drinks they desire for a nominal charge. Drawbacks for families are the small standard cabins in the older vessels and the lack of self-service laundry facilities.
